The Logo Loft Project Spotlight: Messco Building Supply

For Messco Building Supply, The Logo Loft developed a strong, attention-demanding image that employs a unique 3D process to great effect.

The main part of the logo created by The Logo Loft is formed by a combination of two- and three-dimensional boxes stacked together to form an eye-catching illusion. Emerging from this image is an abstract "M," offset with an unusual color palette mixing reds, blues and grays for a striking effect. These colors, which The Logo Loft chose in part because of their ability to pop against the white background, lend the logo a strong, unique presence.

The Logo Loft completed the project with the use of a clean, bold font that blends well with the graphic. Taken together, the elements of illustration, color, and font choice result in a strong logo that will help this client stand out in its field.

The Logo Loft Project Spotlight: Sunset Building & Development

When determining what they wanted in a logo, Sunset Building & Development decided to eschew the typical construction look for something that would better reflect their seaside roots. Despite this inherent limitation, The Logo Loft had plenty to work with, both in the coastal location of the company and in the company name itself.

The design put together by the Logo Loft team uses warm, inviting colors and instantly recognizable iconography to brand Sunset with a distinct image. The logo perfectly embodies the name with a stark, graphic sun, accented with lines of sea and shore that lead the eye directly to the company name. Logo Loft designers were able to take a familiar image, align it with the full business name, and immediately communicate who Sunset is and what they do.

The Logo Loft Project Spotlight: Mad Cow Cutlery

The Logo Loft was approached by Mad Cow Cutlery, distributors of high-end kitchen knives and implements, to create an eye-catching logo for their new online store.

The Logo Loft designers wanted to come up with a logo that perfectly complemented the client’s distinct name. A couple of obvious visual elements derived from the name - the cow and the cutlery - lent themselves well to illustration, and the Logo Loft team decided to concentrate on these in their concept.

The Logo Loft's ultimate design perfectly illustrates the company’s purpose and attitude. A big, bold font, accentuated with illustrated slash marks, grabs attention immediately and works well with the in-your-face mascot. Logo Loft designers also went with a bold color scheme of red and black to further enhance the logo’s overall impact.

The Logo Loft Project Spotlight: Elite Professional Cleaning

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Sometimes, however, if the words are presented in just the right way, they can speak for themselves.

Such was the case with the logo designed by The Logo Loft for Elite Professional Cleaning, Inc. Elite came to The Logo Loft looking for a logo that would help brand them as a sophisticated, high-end company devoted to quality service. The design team at The Logo Loft felt this could best be achieved with a simple presentation of the name, which itself went a long way toward delivering the desired message.

The Logo Loft chose an elegant script font for the word “Elite” to give it a sense of sophistication and style. While elaborate enough to be art in and of itself, the script is clean enough to remain readable. A strong color scheme of purple and gray adds dimension to the piece while enhancing the sophisticated feel. (The Logo Loft also provided the client with alternative designs featuring green and blue.)

Finally, the Logo Loft team added a soft glow effect behind the logo to help focus attention on the name. The finished concept portrays a strong sense of class, taking it beyond the feel of many cleaning and janitorial services.

The Logo Loft Project Spotlight: Cold Open Productions

Cold Open: To launch directly into the story of a film or video without introduction or opening credits.

Cold Open Productions: A script writing company for film, television and web content.

The idea of a “cold open” can in many ways parallel the purpose of a logo. A logo is often your first introduction to a company. Like a cold open, it sets the tone for everything to follow, and it does so without the benefit of long introductions or explanatory material. Both must, in a brief encounter, give the viewer (or client) some idea of what the program (or company) is all about.

Often, the information given in a television or movie cold open isn’t complete, but is rather a tease of what is to come. That’s the approach The Logo Loft took with this concept. Rather than go with traditional visual elements that would suggest writing or scripting, Logo Loft designers instead went with a play on the well-known “Open” sign. The Logo Loft's use of a stark black-and-white palette, and the worn texture of the image, make this logo both intriguing and inviting to the viewer.

The Logo Loft's decision to go with the white-on-black look works not only as an eye-catching contrast, but also communicates the idea of new ideas emerging from the background.

Overall, this design by The Logo Loft strikes the perfect balance of inviting the viewer in without giving too much away.

Logo Loft Project Spotlight: Komfy Baby Things

Komfy Baby Things is an online resource for all things infant, and they came to The Logo Loft needing a logo that would establish them on a very crowded map. The client sent in a list of criteria they were looking for, and The Logo Loft came up with a design that met each and every one.

This design by The Logo Loft is fun, inviting, and clever. The Logo Loft’s use of soft baby blue and warm grey gives it a warm, comfortable feel. The Logo Loft’s baby icon, used here in place of the “O” in “Komfy,” could easily be separated from the logo and used as a recognizable imprint on clothes, blankets, and other merchandise.

With this design, The Logo Loft has given the client a brand that encompasses what they do, and will help them stand apart from similar businesses.

The Logo Loft Project Spotlight: The Dayzees

In creating a logo for The Dayzees, The Logo Loft went for a nostalgic ‘80s feel, choosing a font and colors that exhibit a playfulness and are attractive to young girls and teens. The Logo Loft’s use of music symbols placed along the already fluid font gives this design a real sense of motion. The random sparkles placed throughout by the Logo Loft designers also helps with the idea of motion, and aids in guiding the eye through the design. The Logo Loft used two strong shades of pink to provide the logo with some contrast and extra pop. The Logo Loft feels the retro look and playful style of this logo will make it very unique in the young girl/teen market.
